Go Into All the World~

How many times have you found yourself screaming inside.  "Argh~ stop this insanity.  What is going on?" or what about, "Stop and Listen to me"...

As I opened my eyes this morning, the sun was shining thru the blinds and the rays echoed throughout the room.  I layed in bed staring at the ceiling when next to me, popped a little head from a pillow.  "Mom," she exclaimed as a smile came across her tired, freckled face.  I smiled back and broke into song... "This is the day, this is the day..." and "Rise... shine... give God the glory, glory..."  Her face lit up more as she crawled across me and into my arms.  In that very moment I realized that I was becoming my own mother and cherished the moment with my daugher.  I knew this was a time - in all its simplicity - that could stay with her forever.

God has given us, as parents, a tremendous amount of power, yet with that power is our greatest responsibility to nurture, love, discipline, and train up the next generations of believers.  What an honor it is to be entrusted with so much!  Yet, our duties as christians goes beyond our own doors and into a world that so desperately needs to hear the Word of God.  If we go through each day, knowing of someone who needs to hear of God's love, or needs the outreach of the Church and we do nothing, then we are no better than that unbeliever who refuses the love of our Heavenly Father.  In fact, we pay a greater price as we turn away.  In Mark 16:15-16, Jesus instructs the disciples,"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned..."

God's Word is true even today.  As believers - the Holy Spirit is with us, guiding us, and helping us as we go into our community - reaching out to those who desperately need to hear how much God loves them and wants to take care of them.  There are many needs in our own backyards, in our church, and in the many lives around us.  All we have to do is be willing to step out in faith and trust God to lead the way.  God says, "...my fields are plentiful, but the workers are few..." So, my challenge to you today is  to ask yourself ~ WHAT IS IT THAT GOD NEEDS FROM ME?  AND THEN ASK GOD  TO REVEAL IT TO YOU - SEEK HIS GUIDANCE AND ASSURANCE ~ KNOW THAT HE IS WITH YOU ~ AND IGNITE A PASSION IN YOUR HEART FOR GOD ~ MAKE A COMPLETE 360 IN YOUR LIFE AND BEGIN TO DO THE SAME IN THE LIVES SURROUNDING YOU EVERY DAY AND IN THE COMMUNITY YOU SERVE FAITHFULLY.

Step out in faith and see the wonderful things God can and will do.

In Faithful Service,

~Missy
